Smarter than I give him credit for :)
So Princess is busy washing her face, wash wash wash, wetting her paws and using them to clean her fur, busy busy busy, and Umaro oh so casually yawns, stretches, and stuffs his head right underneath her tongue. Now, for some reason, despite being something of a rabbit-cidal maniac (still), Princess likes to groom things (the floor; my sheets; any and all stuffed animals), so she automatically gives his head a few licks too. She stops after a second and resumes her own grooming. He waits a few minutes, then does it again, and she obliges - again.
I do know that he also grooms her - he's responsible for two temporary bald patches on the top of her head, where she can't reach.
More VK2 notes:
That ... surprisingly, did not take nearly as long as I thought it would. I have now assembled a full six unit party that is capable of taking down just about anything roaming around the first two dungeons. My money troubles are a distant thing of the past (I can purchase Rebirth Flasks and Escape Cards with impunity, allowing me to revive fallen units and warp back to town at will), and I've completed about half a dozen quests. I'm currently working on leveling up enough to take on the third dungeon without difficulty (difficulty being having to use those Rebirth Flasks). I did somehow find the fourth dungeon while I was blundering around trying to get back to town, but I don't think they're ready for that yet.
My party:
Tu [Rabbit], female elf priest/mage
Gou [Dog], male elf mage/priest
Mao [Cat], female human fighter/priest
Yang [Sheep/Goat], male Akatoki monk
Ji [Chicken], female halfling thief
Niu [Cow/Ox], male dwarf fighter
They're technically low level still (nobody's hit even level 10 and I've only done job class changes on three of them) - this party's strength is in its numbers. Anything we fight is going to have between three and four melee warriors rushing at them, and if there are four or more enemies, my lead unit knows Fire Storm and I've finally figured out how to cast it. I have yet to pick up a bow (this would turn my thief into a ranged missile weapon unit - highly useful for keeping her from dying), but my secondary elf has finally expanded into casting attack magic. I also don't have a mass healing spell, which is quite annoying and the reason behind having three priests (the thief will eventually be a fourth priest, but right now I need her to get through trapped chests).
